Three Roberts take the Polar Bear Plunge

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

Despite the 15 degree F wind chill and sharp, floating ice chunks, John Roberts, our chief strategist, and his sons, Jack and Sam (left), waded into Lake Ontario with a few hundred similarly nutty folk on Valentine’s Day to raise money for Special Olympics. The three pulled in over $700 and are already making plans for next year’s splash.

Wrasslin’ at Monty’s

Tuesday, February 09, 2010

Friday night was fight night at Monty's Corner. In a twist on the long-standing Partners + Napier Beer Friday tradition, this week the pub saw some serious arm wrestling action, including Siebert vs. Moore (top), with Siebert winning by a nose. The evening's main attraction, Allen vs. Haigh, drew a sell-out crowd. The honorable Jeff Gabel, CCO and managing partner, presided.

Agency Day 2010

Tuesday, January 19, 2010
Partners + Napier kicks off each new year with Agency Day, a full-day annual meeting/pep rally that brings together all members of the agency family from both our Rochester and Atlanta offices to celebrate our success from the previous year, for a look at where the company stands, and to lay out our plans for the year ahead. Management presents topics including financials, new business prospects, outstanding creative from across the industry from the previous year, and training plans. Break-out groups help bring the material to a personal, actionable level, leaving everyone with a clear sense of the agency's outlook and their roles in making it a success. This year, Jeff Gabel, chief creative officer and managing partner (left), shared the progress of our "shopper marketing" discipline, one of Partners + Napier's core offerings. And our CEO, Sharon Napier, summed it all up: "What you did last year doesn't count. You start from scratch tomorrow."

Kodak and Partners + Napier shine at CES

Tuesday, January 12, 2010
Our team's back from the Consumer Electronics Show with a lot to be proud of. The booth concept and content they developed for Kodak drew large crowds, generated tons of excitement, and provided an impressive backdrop for Kodak as it garnered four awards for new products unveiled at the show. Even our CEO, Sharon Napier, participated in a panel discussion at the booth's "K-Zone" about combining motherhood and entrepreneurship. Check out Kodak's booth here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2Iu4jrhaDc&feature=SeriesPlayList&p=9FA803520FF18F3A

Sharon's discussion topic was "The M-Suite," blending motherhood and entrepreneurship.

Best Buy “blue shirts” compete in Kodak inkjet printer video contest

Monday, December 14, 2009
To raise enthusiasm for Kodak inkjet printers among employees at Best Buy, Partners + Napier created a contest - The Print & Prosper Payback Playback - that invited Best Buy's "blue shirts" to enter a 2-minute-or-less video explaining the benefits of buying a Kodak inkjet printer. The prize: $10,000 to the maker of the most-viewed video. The results: hilarious, and informative. See the top 10 videos here (including "Ink Trek" below) http://www.youtube.com/user/KodakTube#grid/user/C8CAAAB947253939

Barry brings The Little and Boys & Girls Clubs together

Monday, December 14, 2009
Barry Strauber, our VP Creative Services and a member of The Little board of directors, is always looking for an opportunity to help people in our community. While pondering how to expand "The Little Buddies" children's film and activity series, he thought about all the kids in Rochester whose families can't afford to go out together. He contacted the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester, and now, with the help of Little contributors, 310 kids and their grown-up are looking forward to a fun afternoon on the town. To learn more about Little Buddies or to join The Little Film Society go to https://www.thelittle.org/

Partners + Napier helps Kodak fight the power of “big ink”

Friday, December 04, 2009

There may not be much the average person can do about the power of "big oil," but for printing, there is an alternative to "big ink." Partners + Napier designed www.peopleagainstbigink.com so anyone looking for a better way to print can see what their peers and the press have to say about Kodak printers and ink and about competitive products. The site aggregates comments from across the web, including stories like that of a soldier in Iraq who was told he'd have to pay for instructions on how to fix his broken big ink printer. And a frustrated user who discovered that big ink costs more than blood, vodka, and penicillin. There are also opinions and product reviews from digital gurus like Gizmodo.

The people have spoken, and they think big ink stinks.

20 minutes and a beer: the Gabel edition

Monday, November 23, 2009
A quick yet meaty dose of information and a tasty beverage. That's the concept behind the Rochester Advertising Federation's new informal monthly "lecture" series. November's speaker was Jeff Gabel, our own chief creative officer and master of shopper marketing. It was standing room only at the Tap & Mallet pub to hear Jeff's take on outstanding creative and the common constructs that make it great.
